Arimidex (Anastrozole) is a selective, non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor that helps lower estrogen levels in the body. It works by blocking the activity of the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for converting androgens into estrogen. This process is reversible and does not directly interfere with the production of other hormones.

Arimidex is widely used to control estrogen levels, particularly during anabolic steroid cycles. Even a small dose—often around half a tablet per day—can be sufficient to achieve the desired effect.

While alternatives such as Proviron or Nolvadex are sometimes used, they are generally considered less effective at preventing the aromatization of testosterone into estrogen. Elevated estrogen can lead to unwanted side effects such as gynecomastia and excess water retention.

By reducing estrogen levels, Anastrozole may help minimize the risk of gynecomastia and limit fluid retention, which can contribute to a leaner and more defined appearance. For this reason, it is often used as a support compound during steroid cycles rather than as a standalone product. It is typically combined with anabolic substances such as testosterone-based compounds.

The half-life of Anastrozole is approximately two days, allowing for consistent estrogen control with relatively small doses. Common daily dosages range between 0.5 mg and 1 mg, although individual needs may vary.

Use of Arimidex is usually continued throughout the duration of the steroid cycle. Once the cycle ends, it is common to begin post-cycle therapy (PCT) to help restore the body’s natural hormonal balance.
